Mistress of Ceremonies Florrie Forde brings the mirth and mayhem via a sleighful of Christmas carols, comedy sketches, sing-alongs and more. A staple at the Old Vat Room at Arena Stage for years, this seasonal extravaganza now comes to MetroStage in Alexandria, where you can raise a pint and feast on traditional mince pies while enjoying the on-stage antics of Mr. Bertie Ramsbottom, Mr. Charles Archibald Potts and company.

A Christmas Carol -- A Ghost Story of Christmas is a haunting yet heartwarming -- and frequently very funny -- reimagining of the journey of miserly Ebenezer Scrooge and the three ghostly spirits that visit him on Christmas Eve. This adaptation of the classic tale puts the story's supernatural elements front and center for a high spirited and spooky production that prompted a critic for the Hartford Advocate to opine, "If Alfred Hitchcock had done A Christmas Carol, he'd have done it exactly like this."

Chaos comes crashing down as two actors fight over who will play Tiny Tim, a confused actor thinks they are in another show, and another actor attempts to play both Bob and Mrs. Cratchit at the same time. With an out-of-control director, this extremely fast-paced, physical comedy proves that sometimes everything that CAN go wrong WILL go wrong! See this fun twist on the Dicken's classic at the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas.

Keenan, the play follows one evening in the life of David, a wealthy Dublin pub owner who's lost touch with his own humanity in the interest of self-protection and material success. But this Christmas Eve, David's life may change forever when he's challenged by a voice from the past, provoked by those in the present and faced with the reality of a lonely future. A modern fable told with all the biting humor and incisive candor of its Irish playwright, this gritty twist on Dickens' classic has played to sold-out audiences for five straight years now, becoming its own DC tradition.

Septime Webre's version of the timeless ballet is set in the wintry, historic D.C. of old, where snowflakes swirl through the air, King George III is cast as the menacing Rat King and none other than George Washington becomes the heroic nutcracker. A madcap sendup of the holiday classic, Twist Your Dickens finds Scrooge, Tiny Tim and those know-it-all ghosts hopelessly mixed up in zany holiday sketches with an ever-changing roster of drop-in local celebrity guests. Second City alums and veteran Comedy Central writers Peter Gwinn and Bobby Mort dreamed up this new take on A Christmas Carol that's infused with hilariously unpredictable improv sketches and parodies of your favorite holiday specials.
