Now enjoy the group in their latest show, the world premiere of William Shakespeare's Long Lost First Play. Written and directed by Reed Martin and Austin Tichenor, creators of Reduced Shakespeare Company, this rollicking show centers around the discovery, in a parking lot, of an ancient manuscript of young Will's very first play. The three then hurl themselves headfirst into a frenzy of pithy comedy, plentiful punning and wit galore. Experience the irreverent hilarity at Washington DC's Folger Theatre.

"...Founding company members Reed Martin (the slim, bald one) and Austin Tichenor (the gray-haired one) wrote and directed this latest hilariously skewed look at the works of the Bard of Avon, joined by Teddy Spencer (the blond one). The references are "inside-baseball" enough that Shakespeare neophytes won't understand most of them, but non-Shakespeareans probably will still laugh at the puns, the physical humor, and the interaction between the cast members and the audience. Warning—don't arrive late."

"...Martin and Tichenor obviously worked hard to cram as much content from Shakespeare’s 39 (give or take) plays into this script as possible. And while this may charm its target audience of Shakespeare aficionados to no end, it risks coming off as overbearing and esoteric to those, like me, who are not as familiar. Still, a lighter-than-normal dose of 16th century English and a generous mix of contemporary and local allusions take the edge off, making this production a sweeter deal for more diverse audiences. At worst, this is Shakespeare that even your disinterested teenager will be hard pressed to sleep through. At best, this is gateway Shakespeare that may lead to a lifelong addiction."
