Time Stands Still centers on Sarah and James, long time partners in love and war; she, a photographer and he, a reporter. After years covering the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, the pair are sidelined by a near fatal incident and return home to their loft in Brooklyn. Cut off from the drama and chaos of their professional lives, Sarah and James soon discover that the toughest struggles they must face lie not on foreign battlefields, but within their own souls.

The action in Time Stands Still is as simple as the emotion is complicated. Never leaving James and Sarah’s loft, we watch them, month after month, attempt to heal: James, a defeated man renegotiating a new life and Sarah, a bandaged and scarred woman stranded on a couch with broken limbs, pining for her old one.
