The Capital One Arena is an indoor venue situated in Washington, D.C. It's nestled in Chinatown, which is part of the expansive Penn Quarter district. Conveniently positioned over the Gallery Place station of the Washington Metro, the arena first opened its doors on December 2, 1997, under the name MCI Center. In 2006, following MCI's acquisition by Verizon Communications, its name was changed to Verizon Center. It was later rebranded as Capital One Arena in 2017.
