Teen Hamlet

Teen Hamlet

Synetic Theater
1800 S. Bell Street Arlington

An all-teen cast takes the stage at Synetic Theater at Crystal City to perform Teen Hamlet, a re-imagining of the timeless Shakespeare play. The idealistic, scholarly days of Hamlet, the young prince of Denmark, are ended abruptly with the death of his father the King. He's forced to return home and remain under the watchful eye of his uncle Claudius, who has seized the throne and married Hamlet's mother, the weak-willed Queen Gertrude. Despondent Hamlet suffers through angst, unrequited love and the upsetting revelation that foul play led to his father's death. You'll see the plot thicken as he plans his revenge. This Synetic Teen Productions performance is the result of a rigorous eight-week training program filled with physically intensive and artistically challenging exercises. The young performers worked with professional directors, fight and movement choreographers and senior Synetic company members to bring you Teen Hamlet.
