St. Nicholas

St. Nicholas

Undercroft Theatre
900 Massachusetts Ave. NW Washington

Conor McPherson's St. Nicholas, a one-man show presented by D.C.'s Stage Guild that mixes dark comedy and horror, is told from the point of view of a jaded and bitter Dublin theater critic who yearns for the artistry of the playwrights and actors he critiques. While taking in a new production, he falls under the spell of a beautiful and mysterious young actress. Enamored, he follows the entire company all the way to London, where a chance meeting with a vampire leads to an unexpected new job that keeps him occupied most nights. The play tackles themes of creativity, ambition and desire, and it's all delivered by prolific D.C. actor and Stage Guild artistic director Bill Largess for an unforgettable evening of theater.
