Shake Loose at MetroStage

There is Kander & Ebb, Maltby & Shire, Leiber and Stoller, and now Jones, Knowles & Hubbard. For the past fifteen years their work has been seen at MetroStage and this season we celebrate it in a full length revue. Their work celebrates music born of the gospel tradition, and African American icons who invented the jazz, blues, and rhythm & blues of the 20th century. Music inspired by the times reflecting the great migration, empowerment and the overcoming of social and political obstacles. Music that resonates today from their acclaimed musicals that include Three Sistahs, Harlem Rose, Cool Papa’s Party, Ladies Swing the Blues, Bessie’s Blues and many more.
