Into the Dollhouse is an original devised-movement performance that explores nostalgia and girlhood as it unfolds into the pressuring realities of being female and fully-grown. The piece takes inspiration from Meredith Monk’s Education of the Girl Child, Anna Halprin’s Parades & Changes and selected text from Charles Mee’s Salome, and each of the three vignettes are driven by songs from yesteryear that trigger reminiscing.

"... A trio of “dancer/devisers”—Carrie Monger, Stefanie Quinones Bass, and Jennifer Rivers—each deliver a monologue concerning the border separating girlhood from adulthood. One of them handed me a pink plastic teacup and saucer, allowing me a few moments to drink my imaginary tea before collecting the objects some moments later. It’s an impressionistic, nonlinear production—gauzy and dreamlike, and as with a dream, only fragments of it remain in my memory a day later. For the hour you’re in it, though, it casts a potent spell."
