The play immerses us in a magical world; a world which, passing through all physical barriers, allows us to leap through two decades. It is a fleeting encounter between a mother and daughter, but decisive for the latter. As If It Were Tonight is Memory and Desire but, above all, the current that runs through it is the affection embodied within Mercedes and Clara, within their characters, and the link (that which exists and that which should have existed) which unites them.
