Picasso at the Lapin Agile

Picasso at the Lapin Agile

Keegan Theatre
1742 Church Street, NW Washington

Washington D.C.'s Keegan Theatre presents a production of Picasso at the Lapin Agile, an absurdly funny and whimsical look at two brilliant minds written by legendary comic and actor Steve Martin. The play centers on a fictionalized conversation between Pablo Picasso and Albert Einstein -- during the script's very first reading at Martin's Beverly Hills home, Tom Hanks played Picasso and Chris Sarandon played Einstein -- that takes place in a Parisian bar in 1904. The two discuss art and science and the value of genius while interacting with the bar's lively and eccentric patrons. Simultaneously hilarious and thought-provoking, Picasso at the Lapin Agile is a thinking man's comedy sure to provoke a few lively conversations of your own.
