One Man, Two Guvnors

One Man, Two Guvnors

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET)
31 W Patrick St Frederick

It's the Swinging '60s in Brighton, England and One Man, Two Guvnors protagonist Francis Henshall is hungry, jobless and in need of some luck. When he becomes employed by two different criminals, the blundering Henshall must keep the two gangsters from learning of each other at all costs. Playwright Richard Bean's adaptation of the 18th century Commedia dell'arte classic The Servant of Two Masters serves up plenty of satire, slapstick humor and songs performed by live musicians. Get in on the shenanigans when this deliciously funny mash-up of comedy, British pantomime and music-hall revues comes to the Maryland Ensemble Theatre in Frederick.
