The play, by one of the leading lights of England's "In Yer Face" movement, is a controversial, unflinching and morbidly funny look into the mind of Peter Kurten, the notorious Dusseldorf Ripper, on trial for multiple macabre murders. Kurten's story was the basis for the Fritz Lang movie "M," and the play itself was adapted into the 2009 film "Angels Gone," released in the Czech Republic.
