Comedy duo The Pajama Men took DC by storm this past Holiday season. In addition to performing to sold-out houses every night, the remarkable Mark and Shenoah spent their days in the Woolly rehearsal hall, creating and developing their newest piece, Just the Two of Each of Us. The show blends their trademark wit, characters, improv, and fast-paced physical comedy with plenty of new surprises. It is our great pleasure to welcome them back.

"...The bits fly by, and the clowning is polished to a high shine. Both men are preposterously limber and physically precise: Note Allen's dexterity as he fiddles with an imaginary prosthetic arm that becomes one of the evening's best running gags. And behold Chavez as a horse, especially when Allen, playing a character in a moment of high distress, tries to steal a comforting kiss from the beast. The nervous look on the horse's face - well, you can imagine."

Scratch the partridge and the pear tree, who wants fruit and foliage when you can have The Pajama Men: Just The Two of Each of Us back at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company this holiday season? You put these two comic clowns from Albuquerque, New Mexico on stage together-and in their pajamas no less-and you get one hell of a hilarious show."

"...Some of The Pajama Men's characters and gags are more amusing than others. Particularly hilarious: the groaner-happy deadpan newscasters and their animal expert interview subject, that motorcycle-driving hero with the catchphrase, "Too Easy!", and any gag involving the constantly-evolving, ever-ridiculous name of the medieval theme park where much of the play's action is set. It's particularly fun to see the actors push a sketch further than it needs to go (this leads to hijinks such as Chavez smacking Allen's ass about 47 times in a row). In general, The Pajama Men clearly seem to be having a blast up on stage, which goes a long way towards boosting the effectiveness of their zippy performance."

“You might feel like a bad goalie,” Chavez predicts at the top of the show. He is as grave as an Archbishop, or an Archbishop in pjs, at least. “You’ll say, ‘I missed that one.’ Or ‘that one went over my head.’” And to a certain extent he is right, although not because of your lack of goaltending skills.
