Entremeses

The Kennedy Center
2700 F Street, NW Washington

The Kennedy Center welcomes the U.S. debut of one of Spain's most acclaimed theater companies, Teatro de La Abadía, for this performance of three short plays entitled Entremeses. An entremes is a comic one-act that, historically, was performed as an interlude during a long work of a more dramatic nature circa the 16th and 17th centuries in Spain. Foregoing the longwinded drama, Entremeses is a revival of one of the company's first productions, featuring three one-acts scribed by Miguel de Cervantes -- author of Don Quixote -- and directed by José Luis Gómez. This amusing production is part of the IBERIAN SUITE: global arts remix festival and is performed in Spanish with projected English titles.
