Ballet and Brass

Ballet and Brass

Michael R. Klein Theatre
450 7th Street NW Washington

Popular D.C. street band Brass Connection and a live string quartet join Chamber Dance Project for a thrilling trio of new works presented at The Lansburgh Theatre. Dubbed an "imaginative and determined new dance force" by the Washington Post, Chamber Dance Project continues to push the envelope in the realm of edgy contemporary ballet, with choreography that's as technically impressive as it is emotionally resonant. In Ballet and Brass, seven professional ballet dancers will take on three premieres: a new hip-hop ballet by local fave Victor Adebusola, a piece by NYC choreographer Jennifer Archibald, and a work by award-winning artistic director Diane Coburn Bruning set to a driving score featuring the music of Bryce Dessner (The National) and the company's string quartet.
