The Anacostia Playhouse will be both a rental facility as well as a producing organization. Our mainstage is planned for 100-120 seats with flexible, reconfigurable seating. We hope to see such respected companies as Theater Alliance, Verbal Gymnastics, Scena Theatre and Southeast Trinity on our stage. Between mainstage productions we will host readings of new plays, intimate concerts, spoken word and more. With a large multi-function space in addition to the main theater, we will be available to host rehearsals, community meetings and children's events. Also in our long range plan are both an after school program and a technical apprenticeship program.
