The Critic and The Real Inspector Hound
450 7th Street NW Washington
A madcap night of theater comes to Washington's Lansburgh Theatre courtesy of the Shakespeare Theatre Company with plays by greats Tom Stoppard and Richard Brinsley Sheridan. This double bill of The Critic and The Real Inspector Hound showcases two of the theater world's best-loved behind-the-scenes comedies. First up is playwright Jeffrey Hatcher's (The Government Inspector) fresh take on Sheridan's 18th-century romp The Critic, a whirlwind comedy about bad theater, worse playwrights -- and, worst of all, the critics. Then you'll enjoy Stoppard's whodunit spoof The Real Inspector Hound, a farce that hilariously dissects Agatha Christie-style locked-room mysteries.
