Silent Sky Reviews
MD Theatre Guide- Highly Recommended
"...Looking up at the sky and wondering what is out there is an activity as old as time. One can’t help but wonder about our place in the bigger universe. Astronomers such as Henrietta Swan Leavitt take this question to a life long obsession. Written in 2011 by Lauren Gunderson, “Silent Sky” follows Leavitt as she becomes a computer at Harvard Observatory in the 1900s. In 2024, “Silent Sky” won the William Inge Theatre Festival Distinguished Achievement in the American Theatre Award. Directed by Susan Stroupe, Perisphere Theater’s production presents well-developed and emotionally-nuanced characters."

"...Gunderson’s Silent Sky, brought to life by Perisphere’s talented cast and crew under Susan Stroupe’s direction, illuminates the legacy of this little-known scientific trailblazer — and invites audiences to contemplate the glory of the skies, the vastness of the universe, and our place within it."
