Maryland Ensemble Theatre presents The Commedia Pinocchio as part of its 2011-2012 Family Theatre Series. The boy puppet springs to life from a block of wood, only to be swallowed by a great fish. The classic tale of Pinocchio's adventure is told here through the lively and fun comedy form known as commedia dell'arte, which has used the various talents of the actors' acrobatics, dance, music and quick wit to entertain audiences since the 15th century. Lane Riosley wrote this fun family romp that's based on Carlo Collodi's classic tale.
