Upcoming DC International Theatre Festival Events at Studio

Studio Theatre, in collaboration with Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) and Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, announced the DC International Theatre Festival (DCITF) events coming to Studio this fall.
DCITF was born out of a desire to celebrate and strengthen the connections between American and international artists, highlight the transformative power of risk-taking theatre, and invite our audience into the conversation.

Join Simon Godwin (Artistic Director, Shakespeare Theatre Company), Mina Morita (Bold Resident Director & Creative Producer, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company) and Jyana S. Browne (Assistant Professor of Premodern Japanese Literary and Cultural Studies at the University of Maryland) at Studio Theatre for a rousing conversation about working across Japan and the United States, presented by Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company in collaboration with Shakespeare Theatre Company and moderated by the Japanese Embassy. Mina and Simon will discuss their experiences working cross-culturally.

We invite you to join the conversation with leaders from each ITF partner institution, including Maria Manuela Goyanes (Artistic Director, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company/LCT3 at Lincoln Center), David Muse (Artistic Director, Studio Theatre), and Drew Lichtenberg (Artistic Producer, STC), in discussion with two luminaries in the public art world, Vincent Roy (Founder, EXMURO) and Jeremy Crandell (Arts Producer, Burning Man) as they discuss the challenges and opportunities that abound when artistic perspectives are exchanged internationally (are shaped by international collaboration).
