Mosaic Theater Company set for DC premiere of Dodi & Diana
Mosaic Theater Company is set for the DC premiere of Dodi & Diana, a taut and thrilling new play that explores questions of identity, sexuality and freedom. Set during the 25th anniversary of Princess Diana's and Dodi Fayed's deaths, the play delves into the marriage of an imaginary couple, while drawing parallels to the real-life relationship between Diana and Dodi. Written by Kareem Fahmy and directed by Reginald L. Douglas, performances run September 4-28, 2025, at the Atlas Performing Arts Center.

It's a thrilling, seductive meditation on identity, fate, fame, and the freedom to tell your own story."
"The gifted Reg Douglas directed a brilliant production of my play American Fast for Theater Alliance earlier this year, and it's a thrill to be returning to Washington, DC for our second collaboration," said playwright Kareem Fahmy. "Dodi & Diana explores the most intimate aspect of marriage and love and asks what parts of ourselves we must give up to be in a committed relationship. I was inspired to write the play when thinking about how the story of Dodi Fayed - Princess Diana's Egyptian lover who died in the car crash with her - had largely been erased from history. I was intrigued by the question of whose stories get to be a part of history, and why? I'm honored to have Mosaic present this strange, surprising, and sexy play - it's one of my favorite things I've ever written."
