This fascinating, transatlantic mystery spans the 20th century, interweaving three stories and 21 characters, played by an ensemble of four actors. A scientist obsesses about dissecting Albert Einstein's brain in search of physical clues to explain his brilliant mind. A musician suffers a seizure and forgets everything except his love for his devoted fiancee. A neuropsychologist struggles with her past, while experiencing her first romance with another woman. This dynamic exploration of how biology and memory create our sense of self will captivate your mind and touch your heart.

"...With three incessantly interweaving storylines that traverse decades and feature some 20 characters, "Incognito" in fits and snatches vividly portrays scientists and laypeople grappling with the brain's puzzles. Directed by Allison Arkell Stockman, four actors - Kari Ginsburg, Ixchel Hernandez, Marcus Kyd and Gerrad Alex Taylor - persuasively embody all the characters, for the most part successfully distinguishing them by means of accent and demeanor."

"...The quartet of actors assembled by director Allison Arkell Stockman for Incognito are a capable bunch, though (ostensibly in the name of creating some mystery) it can be confusing to follow who we're watching (rapidly changing, pronounced accents almost feel like a cheat sheet to try to help us differentiate). It takes a surprisingly long time, for example, to place exactly why we just witnessed a strangulation scene between two unintroduced characters."

"...There's a long tradition of "memory plays," of which The Glass Menagerie is a classic example. Their narrative is often of one character's recollection of the events or characters in his or her life. Incognito is a memory play of a quite different sort, focusing on the loss or unreliability of memory, as the brain creates or deconstructs the narratives of people's lives, or perhaps precludes a coherent narrative at all. It's a play to which an audience needs to pay close attention, but which, in Constellation's production, becomes a memorable experience."
