A Cajun Red Riding Hood updates the classic tale, sending the plucky heroine-now a red-robed little duck-and her 'fraidy cat friend TeJean on an adventurous journey through the bayou. Along the way the pair tangle with a Big Bad Gator, but Petite is no sitting duck and leads her nemesis on a merry Mardi Gras chase through New Orleans. A chorus of swamp dwellers sings backup to the Zydeco-driven songs in this foot-stomping musical.

This inventive adaptation by Joan Cushing, based on the book written by Mike Artell and illustrated by Jim Harris, puts a Louisiana twist on the classic fairy tale. Our heroine is a young duck named Petite Rouge (Jordan Leah Embrack), donning the titular red cape, and the Big Bad Wolf is now an alligator chef named Claude (Michael Perrie Jr.)."

"...The show, which is just over an hour long, is jam-packed with songs. They are enjoyable and fit together as a body of work. Though some throughout will surely stick in your head (The Ballad of Petite Rouge for example), there is a great stint of songs a little after halfway through the show. They are in quick succession and happen when TeJean and Petite Rouge are escaping Claude in a big Mardi Gras crowd. This is also where the dancing (Maurice Johnson) is the most exciting and varied. A very fun trip to the big easy, indeed. "
