Bud and Doug have a dream! They have written (what they are pretty sure) is the next smash Broadway musical! It’s about Johann Gutenberg, the inventor of the printing press and it features all the drama, spectacle, and pizzazz that you would expect from hits like Les Miserables or The Lion King. The only catch is that they need someone to produce the show. So in the meantime, these two overly enthusiastic writers are ready to sing all the songs and play all the parts in this historical musical epic.

"...You'll laugh! You'll cry! There's even a serious issue (spoiler alert: it's the Holocaust). Such is the sales pitch that the fictional playwrights Bud Davenport (Ryan Burke) and Doug Simon (John Loughney) give a group of Broadway producers (i.e. we, the audience) as they present their new musical, Gutenberg. This play-within-a-play trope is the substance of Gutenberg! The Musical! the riotous new show at NextStop Theatre Company."
