"...Cock. Don’t be quick to rebuff this production because of the title. Taking on every connotation over the course the play, the title refers to the slang for a sexual organ, it’s used as a British colloquialism, as well as a reference for the disarming blunders and ‘cockups’ that take place."

"...Director David Muse follows Bartlett’s stage direction to keep things minimal and focused on the action, working with designer Debra Booth to stage things as if in a cockfighting ring. But it’s not simply a fight for John’s love between M and W. John steps into the ring too, dueling — and simulating sex while fully clothed — with each in rounds. Toward the end of the play Bruce Dow appears as M’s father F. It ramps up the tension but is otherwise rather ill-conceived."

Attraction has so many more facets to it than just what parts insert where, and questions of practicality, “normalcy,” emotional supportiveness, suitability for the future—all of these overwhelm John to the point of paralysis in the face of the winner-take-all combat surrounding him"
