"...Director Loewith's marvelous ability to stage two differing scenes at the same time to convey the same universal emotions is strikingly effective. In a pivotal moment in the play, the characters of Harper (Kimberly Gilbert) and Joe (Thomas Keegan) are angrily dissolving their marriage and admitting their secrets and torments. This scene is stunningly played in the same moment as we, concurrently, witness the disarmingly honest Louis (Jonathan Bock) and his former lover Prior Walter (Tom Story) quarreling with one another in rage at emotional abandonment. This scene is highly effective as shades of film Director Robert Altman's technique of overlapping dialogue entered my thoughts."

"...Round House Theatre and Olney Theatre Center join forces to bring us Tony Kushner's Pulitzer Prize winning "Angels in America." Kushner's masterwork digs into the root of the issues that were being faced by America in 1985, love and justice. It is amazing that over 30 years later we are still fighting these things. Upon entering the theatre the audience must face a colossal image of Ronald Reagan and it is a staunch reminder of what the political spectrum of the era was like. It also is a striking reminder of our current political environment."

"...In partnership, Round House Theatre and Olney Theatre Center have thrown their weight behind this play. Presented at Round House's Bethesda space, the first part, Millennium Approaches, is directed by Olney's artistic director Jason Loewith, and the upcoming second part by Round House's Ryan Rilette. It is something of a miracle that the onstage result of this titanic collaboration is so straightforward, passionate, and focused. The lovely paneled set by James Krozner neatly frames and looks down over the space, allowing the actors a largely bare stage (just a few basic tables and beds rolled on and off) on which to exercise the story."
