"...Anyone who has read or seen work by Stoppard knows that he has mastered the English language in a way that few playwrights can boast of, and it is lovers of language who will appreciate this piece the most. In On The Razzle, the jokes come one after another, with few breaks in between. The witticisms are generally based on deft malapropisms and puns, some of which are groan-worthy and some of which fall flat because they simply pass by too quickly. But most of the jokes hit the perfect pitch, inducing hearty laughs and ensuring a good time for all."

"...Imagine polishing off several bottles of bubbly with your ditzy old Aunt. That’s the kind of delightfully dizzy night you’re in for with Constellation Theatre Company’s madcap production of Tom Stoppard’s On the Razzle. There are more groaning puns and twisted tongues here than I can possibly quote. The completely ridiculous wordplay seems endless, gorging itself on a verbal box of chocolates until the farce bursts at the seams. You’ll feel like a goose stuffed with foie gras. Yes, I meant to mix those metaphors. That’s the beauty of the evening."

"...Still, there are pleasures to be had from McGloin’s put-upon, wide-eyed shop assistant, whether his eyes are registering good fortune a few seconds late or are barely visible peeping over the collar of a purloined lady’s cloak. And Ivey has his moments as McGloin’s ever-so-slightly-more-worldly cohort, gamely struggling to preserve a smidgeon of dignity when caught in lie after lie by a widow (Heather Haney, smart and nuanced) he’s desperate to impress. Best of all, and a bit of a show in himself, is Glenn’s malaprop-prone shop owner, who has perfected a nifty trick of second-guessing his own verbal missteps, heading into them bravely at high speed, then slowing down almost imperceptibly on the final syllable, confusion clouding his gaze as he hears himself saying “he’ll alter you before the dessert” when what he means is “he’ll desert you before the altar.”"

"...Unfortunately, I was left feeling largely underwhelmed AGAIN, and after hearing peals of laughter from others in the audience all night, I started wondering if I should write a review from the "It's not you, it's me" stance. That seems to be such a cop-out, however, so instead I have to trust that it's understood between us that you're only ever getting my impression anyway and I'm happy to have you feel differently. Ok, not always HAPPY, but I promise not to judge YOU if you don't judge ME. At least not out loud. FANTASTIC, MOVING ON."
