"Shucked," featuring a book by Robert Horn (known for "Tootsie") and music by Grammy Award-winning Nashville songwriters Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally, tells a heartwarming tale about breaking down walls and bringing people together. Under the direction of Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien ("Hairspray"), the show has been praised by The Wall Street Journal as "flat out hilarious!"

The DC production brings together a stellar cast, including Broadway veteran Miki Abraham as Lulu and Danielle Wade, known for her role as Cady in the "Mean Girls National Tour," as Maizy. The ensemble features Quinn VanAntwerp reprising his Broadway role as Gordy, alongside Jake Odmark as Beau, Mike Nappi as Peanut, and Tyler Joseph Ellis and Maya Lagerstam as the show's storytellers.

The production also boasts a talented supporting cast of twelve performers, including Zakiya Baptiste, Mackenzie Bell, and Chani Wereley, among others, who help bring this unique American story to life.

This unconventional musical, born from the unlikely collaboration between a New York comedy writer and Nashville music stars, uses corn as a metaphor to explore contemporary American themes. While the premise might seem unusual, the show has proven to be a successful blend of humor, heart, and theatrical innovation, offering audiences what producers describe as "a kernel of hope for our divided nation."

So, mark your calendars and get ready to be shucked with laughter at The National Theatre this February. This is one musical you don't want to miss!
