Matthew J. Keenan to Bring An Irish Carol to The Keegan Theatre

Nov 25, 2015
An Irish Carol

Continuing with its holiday tradition, The Keegan Theatre presents the return of AN IRISH CAROL, written by Dublin native and Keegan company member Matthew J. Keenan. Playing to sold out audiences the past few seasons, AN IRISH CAROL runs December 12- 31, 2015 at the Andrew Keegan Theatre in Washington, DC.

Set in a modern Dublin pub, AN IRISH CAROL is an homage to Dickens' classic -- told as only the Irish can. The play, directed by Mark A. Rhea, is both comic and touching; it follows one evening in the life of David, a wealthy pub owner who has lost touch with his own humanity in the interest of self-protection and material success. But on this Christmas Eve -- challenged by a voice from the past, provoked by those in this present, and faced with the reality of lonely future -- David's life may change forever. AN IRISH CAROL is a modern fable, told with the biting humor and incisive candor of its Irish playwright.

AN IRISH CAROL features Jon Townson, Mark A. Rhea, Susan Marie Rhea, Josh Sticklin, Timothy Lynch, Mick Tinder, Mike Kozemchak and Kevin Adams.

This is Keegan Theatre's 19th season in Washington, DC and their inaugural season in their newly renovated theater located in Dupont Circle.
