An Irish Carol

After playing in 2012 to sold out audiences and rave reviews, The Keegan Theatre presents the return of An Irish Carol, written by Dublin native and Keegan company member Matthew J. Keenan.  In what has become a Keegan holiday tradition,  An Irish Carol  runs December 13- 31, 2013  at the Andrew Keegan Theatre in Washington.

Set in a modern Dublin pub, An Irish Carol is an homage to Dickens' classic - told as only the Irish can. The play, both comic and touching, follows one evening in the life of David, a wealthy pub owner who has lost touch with his own humanity in the interest of self-protection and material success. But on this Christmas Eve - challenged by a voice from the past, provoked by those in this present, and faced with the reality of lonely future - David's life may change forever.  An Irish Carol is a modern fable, told with the biting humor and incisive candor of its Irish playwright.

Says Keegan Artistic Director Mark A. Rhea, "It is such an honor to bring this lovely play back to our audience, with the entire original cast from last season's production.  They all have such a passion for the piece and we have been waiting all year for Keegan's 3rd annual holiday show.  We hope to keep the tradition going for years to come, as the play speaks to everything Keegan is about."

An Irish Carol features Jon Townson, David Jourdan, Susan Marie Rhea , Josh Sticklin, Timothy Lynch, Mick Tinder, Mike Kozemchak and Kevin Adams.
