"...If you missed seeing Fun Home on Broadway, the Baltimore Center Stage production demonstrates what all the hype was about. This production proves to be in many ways more powerful and intimate. Baltimore Center Stage's Fun Home is a not-to-be-missed musical journey through the troubled mind of an artistic virtuoso and a revered role model of the LGBTQ+ community."

"...Overall, I give "Fun Home" an A-. It is a rich story filled with drama and moving components, ingeniously adapted for the stage. Some aspects were unnecessarily edgy, such as the faux sex scene with Alison (Andrea Prestinario) and Joan (Shannon Tyo) and the kids sang some crude lyrics. Minor details for some, I suppose. However, the music and singing and dancing were stimulating and captivating. The aesthetics of the theatre, the stage, and the ambiance created by the performers make "Fun Home" worthy of the accolades it has received."

"...Center Stage gifts us with a superb production of this heartbreaking work. Director Hana Sharif has assembled a near-perfect cast: as Alison, Andrea Prestinario guides us, with bravery and humor, through her memories while at the same time trying to make sense of them herself. As Bruce Bechdel, her father locked in an unhappy world that doesn't fit him, Jeffry Denman is both tyrannical and worthy of our deepest sympathies. His is the most difficult role: wound as tightly as a spring, he yearns for a different existence that even he can't bear to put into words."
