A few of the songs are a rollicking hoot — none more so than the grand finale, another instance of delayed gratification — while others feel like curious interludes compensating for the story’s broken record of misunderstandings. Likewise, the sight gags that feel overplayed (many of them involving cafe tables) are the ones that seem superfluous."
