"...Henderson scored the show in such a way that each musician has a quick solo feature. Meadows' band features Michael Bowie (upright bass), Carroll "CV" Dashiel III (drums), Ed Walters and Grant Langford (Reeds), Kieron Irvine (trumpet), and Christopher Steele (trombone). All I can say is that Luther Henderson is smiling down because his charts are being well cared for here."

"...Ain't Misbehavin', directed with joy by Joe Calarco and performed by a stellar cast, is effervescent at Signature Theatre in Arlington, Virginia. Signature audiences already know that Nova Y. Payton and Kevin McAllister are capable of greatness, but the less familiar Iyona Blake, Solomon Parker III, and Korinn Walfall are working at the same level."

"...Great music, singers with vocal technique to burn, well-conceived and active movement, and a flawless technical production combine to create an evening to remember."

MD Theatre Guide - Highly Recommended

"...Over the course of the two hours, the audience is treated to over 30 songs. And when the cast gathers around Mark at the piano, you almost feel bereft because you're not part of that incandescent group. This is a show that will chase away the mid-winter blues and might even have you looking for some swing dancing classes to keep the mood going. Music revues don't get much better than this."

"...Conceived in the late 1970s by Richard Maltby, Jr. and Murray Horwitz, the evening is chock full, covering 31 of Waller's numbers with no artificial story framing but plenty of drama inherent in the tunes, brought to the fore by the charismatic cast of five singers. Meadows, his back to us but head swiveling, transforms an upright into a wild living organism with his powerful and mischievous stride-piano magic and his gleeful rapport with the singers. Michael Bowie on bass, Carroll "CV" Dashiel III on drums, Ed Walters and Grant Langford on reeds, Kieron Irvine on trumpet, and Christopher Steele on trombone make up the rest of the tight, elegant band. They never showboat. They're there to support Meadows and the singers, freeing them to strut their stuff."
