Twelfth Night

Twelfth Night

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET)
31 W Patrick St Frederick

This is rootin' tootin' Wild Bill Shakespeare at his cowboy best. Wait ... what? Did the Bard write westerns that we don't know about? Not exactly -- but Maryland Ensemble Theatre has put together the next best thing. Their production of Twelfth Night, Shakespeare's gender-bending comedy of unrequited love and romantic mischief, takes the familiar story and transports it to the Old West. The Town Marshal loves the Hotel/Saloon owner, but she'll have none of him. She loves one of the Marshal's men, but he's a she and in love with the Marshal. Confused? Well, so are they. Come watch them sort it all out with fistfights and gunfights in the classic language of Shakespeare.
