The Taming of The Shrew

The Taming of The Shrew

Anacostia Arts Center
1231 Good Hope Road, SE Washington

In a place where parades come before schoolwork, a front porch is an open invitation to visit the neighbors and folks walk to the rhythm of a zydeco beat, a man returns home with a need to be free of his worldly ambitions and assimilate back into the community that raised him. As he re-learns the language of "the good life" he finds himself at odds with the girl who's passionately fighting against the ways of this close-knit bayou village. While Kate and Petruchio battle, tease and spar their way to love, they soon learn they are no match for the magic of a Louisiana night. Artistic Director Ty Hallmark’s Taming of the Shrew will work to answer Pallas’ season question – How Far Would You Go … Before you come home.
