Time’s running out, and the brilliant cannibal psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter may hold the truth—if Clarice plays his dangerous game of quid pro quo. A raunchy spoof of the 1991 Oscar-winning film, Silence! The Musical—which shattered NYC Fringe Festival box office records and ran for more than 500 performances Off-Broadway—features gleefully vulgar songs, non-stop zingers, and a singing chorus of tap-dancing lambs.

"...Studio being Studio, “Silence!” is sharply staged despite this off-Broadway hit’s oddly bland gags. It’s ably directed by Alan Paul — he’s been sinking his teeth into meatier musicals such as the recent “Man of La Mancha” and next spring’s “Kiss Me, Kate” at the Shakespeare Theatre Company — with a peppy four-piece band pounding out melodies next to the stage. The musical in-jokes include Bob Fosse-style dancers popping up behind FBI agent Clarice Starling when she gets a break and begins to feel like a star, and Jessica Beth Redish somehow manages to cram the twitchy, swishy choreography onto the tight runway stage."

"...This OMG did I just see that parody of Jonathan Demme's masterfully creepy Oscar-winning 1991 movie began as a series of songs by Jon and Al Kaplan. The roughly put together musical had a sell-out run in the 2005 New York International Fringe Festival and would feel right at home at the DC Fringe. In its present location at Studio's 2nd stage, it is a finely packaged ninety minutes of controlled artistic mayhem, sensibilities be...darned."
