Contos em Viagem -- Cabo Verde at The Kennedy Center

Teatro Meridional, an award-winning Portuguese theater company, presents the United States premiere of Contos em Viagem -- Cabo Verde at the IBERIAN SUITE: global arts remix festival. This compelling production is all about Cape Verde, an island country that spans an archipelago of 10 volcanic islands in the Atlantic Ocean. Based on texts with regional context but universal emotion, this one-woman show (though technically she's not alone onstage, as she's joined by an accompanying musician) is performed in Portuguese and native Creole languages, with projected English translations.
