While other plays make you reach for Kleenex, Bug leaves you scrambling for a can of Raid. It all starts when Agnes, a cocktail waitress, invites an aloof Gulf War veteran named Peter to spend the night. Peter quickly identifies a hidden bug infestation in her seedy motel room and then undertakes desperate efforts to eradicate it. Fueled by drugs and isolation, Peter and Agnes begin to unhinge as they uncover the source of the mysterious pests. What begins as a minor annoyance escalates into a full-blown conspiracy theory that threatens to erase their last traces of sanity. An Off-Broadway hit, Tracy Letts' intense Bug won four Lucille Lortel Awards and two Obie Awards, and was adapted into a 2006 film directed by William Friedkin (The Exorcist). Now Jennifer Lyman directs a riveting revival production for Dominion Stage.
