Big Love

Big Love

Catholic University Drama Complex
3801 Harewood Road NE Washington

Big Love tackles themes of romance, politics, violence and gender roles as it follows a group of 50 brides-to-be on the run from the altar facing down their jilted grooms at an Italian villa. An explosive, poetic and updated retelling of Aeschylus' The Suppliants -- which was first performed around 470 BC -- Big Love was written by noted experimental playwright Charles L. Mee, who won a prestigious Obie Award for the work in 2002. Equal parts comedy and tragedy (with lots and lots of cake), catch this memorable show at the Hartke Theatre Complex at The Catholic University of America.
